Have you been considering making a change to your penis
If so, you’ll be pleased to know the stigma against male aesthetic enhancement treatments is now in the rear-view mirror. “Men are more curious and less embarrassed than they were in the past,” Dr Aaron Stanes told Costhetics recently in an illuminating interview. “I perform between ten and twenty penis augmentation procedures each month.” Dr Stanes is a cosmetic doctor practicing in Melbourne and Sydney, where he offers a range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments, including anti-wrinkle injections, nose-reshaping injections, and filler injections to augment a man’s penis.
When it comes to the latest insider knowledge, news, and info about aesthetic enhancement, penis enlargement is a big topic right now … and getting bigger. So, let’s get down to it.
What Type of Man Wants a Penis Enlargement?
The answer is simple: a man like you. Men of all ages consult with Dr Stanes about altering the dimensions of their penis with the help of injectable fillers. Many have read the 2015 study that found, “on average, females in cisgender relationships would prefer a long-term partner to have a penis 16 cm (6.3 in) in length and 12.2 cm (4.8 in) in girth,” and many men fear they fall short of expectations.
In addition to wanting to be visibly larger, Dr Stanes cited that men’s reasons for wanting penis enlargement include:
- Younger Men
- Want to be more assured in intimacy
- Men with extra cash who have been working hard and want to reward themselves and fulfill a curiosity
- Mature Men
- A hard-working man who puts others first and is now ready to do something for themselves
- A recent separation or relationship issues can cause men to seek a spark and a feeling of extra self-assuredness
Am I Ready for a Bigger Penis?
There are several questions you should ask yourself if you are considering this procedure:
- What is my concern? (girth, appearance)
- What results do I want? (temporary, permanent)
- How much money can I spend?
- How much downtime can I take?
- Can I tolerate the risks?
Though generally considered to be safe, it should be noted that your body may reject filler, or you may be unhappy with the results. (More about risks in a moment.)
The Right Penis for the Job: Mindset, Circumcision and More
Not everyone who is interested in changing the shape of their penis is an appropriate candidate for treatment. Dr Stanes emphasises how important it is for a doctor to get to know patients on the inside and out with:
- Psychological screenings
- Physical screenings
It may surprise you to learn that the length and tightness of the foreskin are two key factors in determining whether penis augmentation is right for you. So is circumcision.
- If you are circumcised, the skin of the shaft doesn’t move. This means the filler doesn’t move either, regardless of whether you are flaccid or erect.
- Uncircumcised individuals have penile skin that works on what Dr Stanes calls a “glider mechanism” where the skin moves up and down over the underlying shaft, giving rise to the accordion effect. (The accordion effect happens when you retract the foreskin of an uncircumcised penis. The filler folds on itself and looks like an accordion.)
This does not disqualify uncircumcised men from the treatment, but a discussion with a professional will illuminate likely outcome pluses and minuses … and may change your mind.
Big News: Penis Enlargement Doesn’t Increase Length
From an early age, boys focus on penis length. Is mine longer than Dad’s? That continues through school and well beyond. This has led to an explosion of penis-lengthening products and procedures. Don’t be fooled.
It is true that some surgeries may cause the length of the penis to appear longer. The most widely used surgical procedure involves cutting the suspensory ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone. “When this ligament is cut, the penis appears longer because more of it hangs down. It doesn’t change the actual length of the penis, and cutting the suspensory ligament can cause an erect penis to be unstable,” warn experts at the Mayo Clinic in the U.S.
Filler Millilitres: How Much Can a Penis Take?
For this highly bespoke treatment, a comprehensive consult is necessary so that you and your injector are in sync with the outcome you are trying to achieve. Dr Stanes meets with patients personally in order to:
- Ascertain how much difference in girth the patient wishes to see
- Assess skin quality for the needed elasticity and thickness to produce good results
- Select the best filler formulation to achieve penis augmentation goals
- Take starting measurements
This assessment helps set the parameters for treatment. “I use pre-filled syringes with a bio-compatible gel to enhance penis size,” reports Dr Stanes. “The amount of gel can range from as little as .6 millilitres to as much as 20 millilitres, depending on a range of factors.”
- Men with smaller penises need less filler simply because there is less area to treat.
- Men with thicker and tighter skin will also realise benefits with lower quantities.
- Older men with thinner skin achieve superior volume as the skin is more accommodating of the filler.
Dr Stanes says he generally recommends 10-20ml of a temporary and reversable gel filler in most consultations. This will allow the patient to experience some of the benefits of a full treatment and assess the results. “A slow, mindful approach to penis augmentation reduces risk and increases precision, which in turn increases patient satisfaction,” says Dr Stanes. Beyond that, the more filler you use in a single session, the more you increase your risk of:
- Contour irregularities
- Being too large/wide relative to the body
- Potential for contamination
- Reaction to filler
“These risks further underscore the value of using less filler over two treatments rather than trying to accomplish too much too quickly,” says Dr Stanes.
Does Penis Enlargement with Filler Hurt?
Though filler injections are not painless, Dr Stanes notes that a variety of techniques are used to ensure patient comfort. “Patients can apply a topical numbing cream 45 minutes prior to arriving for their appointment,” explains Dr Stanes. “This helps alleviate the sting of the anaesthetic that we inject. The whole process takes about five seconds.”
On a scale of one to ten, most patients rate the discomfort of the filler injections themselves at about a five.
No Guarantees, and When to Call the Doctor
With or without a circumcision … with or without the latest filler formulation … with or without your treatment being performed by a skilled and experienced injector … there are no guarantees that the penis of your dreams will manifest in real life. That being said, the satisfaction rate for penis augmentation with filler injections is VERY high.
If you see redness or swelling, if you are in pain, or if your filler is migrating in a strange way, call your doctor immediately. An enzyme can dissolve filler and alleviate almost any problem that arises from this treatment, but only if you address the problem quickly.
Your Favourite Thing: Penis Massage
Filler is a gel material that can change shape. Particularly when it is first injected, common stimuli including heat, activity, mood, touch, and body position, can cause the filler to migrate … unless you take your penis in hand, literally. Aftercare is key to a successful penis augmentation with fillers.
Dr Stanes educates his patients on the how and why of massaging and moulding the filler to maintain even distribution. Results of the injections are assessed and re-assessed during the healing period. If necessary, additional filler may be recommended. “I strongly believe it is wiser to use less filler in the beginning and to add more to the augmentation if it is warranted,” says Dr Stanes. “It is also more difficult to adjust the contours of an over-filled penis, leading to additional risk.”
